Everyone should read!
This book is priceless to me. The more I learn about this topic, the more I realize just how far humans have strayed from understanding nature and our world. This information should be taught to our children. We need to protect our planet, our health, and our ecosystems. This book is beautifully organized and illustrated. Must read!!

Practical Permaculture Know-how
When I found "The Permaculture Student 2: A Collection of Regenerative Solutions", I had worked my way through most of Bill Mollison's "Permaculture Design Manual". Matt's "The Permaculture Student 2" bridged so much information for me that has been refined over the 30 years since Bill's book was written. Although "The Permaculture Student 2" is a smaller book, it's very approachable and it is not lacking in knowledge and information. Through the author's collaboration and peer review with others in various permaculture niches, "The Permaculture Student 2" tells and shows how people are living a permaculture lifestyle right now, and how you can apply different concepts yourself as you come to know and understand them. From water, to earth, plants and seeds, insects and animals, food, even to personal and community relationships, Matt Power's book has powerful knowledge to help not only heal the planet, but heal ourselves and our communities, as well. I recommend sharing this book with others who want to learn more about permaculture. You don't have to be a die-hard, eco-friendly person to find great information on living more abundantly and regeneratively. This book is positive and encouraging on taking steps to align your daily choices with sustainability. It's also readable from 8th grade level through adult, so youth can take advantage of the information and inspiration it has to offer, as well. I loved the book and began using principles taught in it right away. It's a great value.
Buy this book, it will not disappoint.
Every segment of this book is valuable in it's own right, and will assist you in your particular goals and personal needs. Permaculture can literally be applied to every aspect of life no matter your background, and we are fortunate to have an author like Matt to present the topic in such an easy to understand and actionable format. For me, the food growing aspect of permaculture really drew me to this book. I've heard Matt say, "save the seeds from your best plants grown in your worst soils." This is a perfect example of growing resilient crops and framing your mindset for the more difficult times in life. It is my hope that many others are drawn to Matt's work, permaculture, and gardening in general through The Permaculture Student 2, to become more resilient themselves and for their communities. Whether you're just setting out on your permaculture journey or have been at it for years, this is the book to get, it will blow your mind.
My family had the wonderful opportunity to attend a lecture by Matt Powers
My family had the wonderful opportunity to attend a lecture by Matt Powers. Matt is an infectious speaker, providing an amazing amount of information and motivation in just two hours. I diligently took notes--and realized I wanted to "deep-dive" into so many of the topic areas he covered while speaking, so I invested in his book. This book is now my constant companion--it is so riveting that I take it with me to the beach, read it while waiting for kids to return from a day of camp, and sneak time on my sofa with this tome between time with my beloved red wigglers and making meals for the ever-hungry kids in my household! I have already learned a ton. Most importantly, this is a book filled with hope and action--both ingredients are necessary to help us in the ever-changing world we are so lucky to be stewards of...Enjoy! Take Action! Spread the word!

Captivating, inspiring!
Matt has been the most captivating teacher I’ve known. Not only does he bring together the most incredible permaculture experts in the world to join him in contributing to permaculture education, but he inspires confidence and zest for life—this masterpiece is a “can do” infusion! I am ever grateful for Matt’s guidance as I embark upon making permaculture my way of life. This book is one that I’ll keep always out and available for reference. There’s so much wisdom and information in it. I find excitement in sharing different lessons and chapters with friends. It’s been awesome putting into practice what I’ve learned on my own little piece of earth. I feel like it could take many years to absorb all of what the Permaculture Student 2 has to offer, and I love that.
